Rogue Space™ Origins

What are the Origins of Rogue Space™ ?
Most of the best gaming I ever did was during and right after college. The friends I made during those campaigns turned out to be lifelong.
During college I ran a popular Superhero game almost exclusively. The complexity of the game and the time intensive math involved, rendered the game unsuitable for the time restraints that I had after Graduation The games were far fewer and much farther in-between.
Newly married, and struggling to get a professional foothold, there were many new demands on my time. So I needed a game that would have broad appeal and demand less time to play. The answer to my dilemma was Rogue Space ™. It was the first game that I ever made, and in many ways was the best. The system was still rough and had much to be desired, but it was a starting place and my first step into the world of Tabletop Game Design.
The rules provided the basis of what would become The Dark Fantasy of Sundrah, some years later.
Since then I have focused on the B3 rules mechanic which has evolved within series, Worlds of Pulp. In this system I found the balance between structure and imagination that I was looking for.
The only thing left to do, was return to where it all began and bring Rogue Space™ into this new system.
The original illustrations for the game were crude and hurriedly done, still there was a simple sincerity in their design. I have tried to preserve that in the current illustrations.
