A Look Back: Davey Beauchamp

Davey Beauchamp is a visionary designer and writer whom I am very proud to have worked with and hope to work with again. This interview was given back in 2012. With the ten year anniversary of APA coming up, I feel that it is imperative that I find some project for us to come together again.

If you do not know Davey, he cannot be exadurated. True Story: I was at a convention in the dealer’s room. when I hear loud singing. Davey, whom I did not know, starts serenading me with You Take My Breath Away as he walks across these tables straight at me. Its the scene from Top Gun and, oh yeah, he is going to jump. Afterwards when I asked him “The Hell?” he told me that he didn’t know any other way to get my attention, because he wanted to talk to me about working on Amazing Pulp Adventures. This is one of my two favorite, all time,convention moments,
In these interviews, I had asked folks to deliver their segments without scripting or prompting, because I wanted their sincerity to come through, but you know what, I have never known Davey to be anything but sincere.
