Izzy Irons interview with Dirty Dan Douglas and a bonus interview with Ulysses Umber

Izzy Irons: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the most anticipated interview of the season! I’m here with the one and only “Dirty” Dan Douglas, straight from the mean streets of Rustville. Dan, the big night is coming up, and you’ve got your sights set on Ulysses Umber. How are you feeling about the match?

Dirty Dan Douglas: Izzy, let me tell ya, I’m feeling as ready as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Ulysses might have the crowd in his corner with all that underdog charm, but in the ring, it’s just him and me. And let’s be clear, in my world, playing nice gets you nowhere.

Izzy Irons: Ha! I can always count on you for a colorful perspective, Dan. So what’s the plan? How do you handle an opponent like Ulysses, who’s known for his resilience?

Dirty Dan Douglas: Oh, it’s simple, Izzy. While Ulysses is busy with his workouts and strategies, I’m perfecting the art of surprise. I’ve got tricks up my sleeve that would make a magician blush. You see, in wrestling, it’s not just brawn that wins the match—it’s brains. And I’ve got plenty of both.

Izzy Irons: Sounds like you’ve got it all figured out. But isn’t there a part of you that respects his fight spirit?

Dirty Dan Douglas: Respect? Sure, I respect a good challenge. But when that bell rings, respect takes a back seat to victory, my friend. Ulysses might come at me with heart and hustle, but it only takes one well-timed chair shot to change the course of a match.

Izzy Irons: Well, Dan, you’ve certainly painted quite the picture of what fans can expect. Any final words for Ulysses or the fans watching?

Dirty Dan Douglas: Ulysses better bring his A-game because I’m bringing everything else. And to the fans, whether you’re cheering or jeering, just know that “Dirty” Dan is gonna give you a show you won’t forget. It’s gonna be a night where legends are made—and I’m planning to be the biggest legend of them all.

Izzy Irons: There you have it, folks! The stage is set, and the tension is rising. Don’t miss the action as “Dirty” Dan Douglas steps into the spotlight. Thank you, Dan, and good luck!

Dirty Dan Douglas: Luck? I make my own luck, Izzy. See you at the show.

Izzy Irons interview with Ulysses Umber

Izzy Irons: Ladies and gentlemen, joining me today is the undeniable heart of the Pulp Wrestling League, the one and only “Underdog” Ulysses Umber! Ulysses, the big night is fast approaching. How are you gearing up to face “Dirty” Dan Douglas?

Ulysses Umber: Thanks, Izzy! You know, I’m feeling pumped and ready. Dan’s got his tricks and tactics, but I’ve got something he doesn’t—a never-give-up attitude. I’ve been training hard, and I’m ready to prove that resilience beats deceit every time.

Izzy Irons: Always the optimist, Ulysses. Fans love that about you. Tell us, how do you plan to counter Dan’s infamous dirty tactics?

Ulysses Umber: Well, Izzy, it’s all about staying one step ahead. I know Dan’s got a bag full of tricks, but I’ve been working on my agility and strategy. I’m prepared for anything he throws my way. Plus, I’ve got the support of the fans, and that gives me the extra boost I need to keep going.

Izzy Irons: Speaking of fans, they’ve really rallied behind you. What does that mean to you going into such a high-stakes match?

Ulysses Umber: It means everything, Izzy. Knowing I’ve got people cheering me on gives me strength. Wrestling isn’t just about the moves; it’s about heart. Every punch, every move, I do it for them. And on the biggest night of the year, I’m going to show everyone that the underdog can come out on top.

Izzy Irons: That’s the spirit! Any words for Dan Douglas or the fans watching at home?

Ulysses Umber: To Dan, I’d say: bring your best, because I’m bringing mine. And to the fans, thank you for believing in me. I promise to give you a match that you’ll remember. Let’s make this a night where the underdog shines!

Izzy Irons: Ulysses, your determination is truly inspiring. We can’t wait to see you in action. Good luck out there!

Well, this this was a wonderful surprise! And we even got two sample characters! You’ve really got me hyped for the updated ruleset! I’ll probably go for the Basic mode, since I tend to veer away from crunch, but I’m hoping the Advanced rules are modular enough so one can pick and choose the ones which suit one’s own play-style best. Great job, and thanks so much for sharing this with us! ! —

Your basic rules should only be enhanced by the complete rules. In case you missed it, I will be sending out the Skinny Complete for free to everyone who already has a copy of the previous rules. The Skinny Complete is still a few months out. I am working on the Index now.
