Tactical Tuesdays: Tactical Security HQ

Puerta Solara Security Headquarters
Converting This to Other Games
The statistics and ratings presented below are written with Worlds of Pulp: The Skinny Complete in mind, using the game’s narrative-first philosophy and simplified scaling system. The Skinny Complete emphasizes flexibility, storytelling, and GM interpretation over rigid mechanics.
That said, these ratings can be adapted to almost any tabletop RPG by a creative and inventive GM. Whether you’re running a percentile system, a d20 game, a modern espionage campaign, a superhero setting, or a science-fiction adventure, the relative values remain useful. A SLIC 5 guard is still an average guard. A SLIC 8 security chief is still a seasoned professional. The exact numbers may change, but the narrative intent remains the same.
In the spirit of Smaller Rules Equals Bigger Gaming, use what helps your story and discard what doesn’t.
Puerta Solara Security Headquarters
Located on the northern edge of Puerta Solara, overlooking Atlantic shipping lanes, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the coastal highway, the Security Headquarters serves as the city’s primary security coordination center.
Inspired by classic physical-security planning, the facility is designed around four principles: observation, communication, access control, and rapid response. Unlike a hidden facility, the headquarters is intentionally visible. Its observation tower, perimeter fencing, and controlled entry points are meant to discourage trouble before it begins.
Occupying approximately 3.1 acres (300′ x 450′), the compound is surrounded by an eight-foot chain-link security fence topped with electric or concertina wire. A single controlled gate regulates all vehicle access.
At the center of the compound stands a two-story headquarters building measuring 80′ x 120′ with nearly 20,000 square feet of interior space. Within are the Command Center, Communications Room, Briefing Room, Security Chief’s Office, Records Vault, Emergency Operations Center, and administrative offices.
A 50-foot observation tower provides clear views of nearby districts, major roadways, marina traffic, and coastal approaches. Adjacent facilities include a motor pool, emergency generator yard, equipment vault, maintenance area, and visitor screening station.
The headquarters operates around the clock. While a skeleton crew of 20 to 25 personnel can maintain basic operations, normal staffing ranges from 55 to 60 personnel, including administrators, dispatchers, investigators, patrol officers, quick response teams, communications technicians, and maintenance staff.

Tactical Tuesdays Summary
The Puerta Solara Security HQ Hub is a highly visible coastal security facility built to house a special crminal justice organization alled the SIG (Special Investigations Group) and protect one of Florida’s busiest fictional cities. Designed around layered security and rapid response, it combines perimeter control, elevated observation, protected communications, and emergency management capabilities into a compact but capable headquarters. While far from a military fortress, its strategic location, professional staff, and symbolic importance make it one of the most secure and frequently targeted locations in Puerta Solara.
