Worlds & Wednesday: The Witch Tish-Tasha

Well, folks, I made you a promise, and Halloween’s near enough now that I can smell the woodsmoke on the air. So it’s time I made good on it.
I’m going to share a tale with you this season. It’s one my own mama first told me, back when I was knee-high to nothing, in a little mountain-top town so small you’d miss it if you blinked. I carried that story around inside me for years without ever giving it much mind. Life does that. You tuck a thing away and forget you’re still holding it.
Then not long ago, I found myself driving down one of those foggy, lonely stretches of road where the world narrows to what your headlights can reach. And there it was again, rising up out of the mist like it never left. The stories of Tish-Tasha. If I had to point to the exact spot where my love of horror first took root, that’d be it.
So pull up a seat here by the fire. Let it warm your bones a spell. Then come on and walk with me out into the woods at night, where the shadows lean in close and we can turn our minds to frightful things and the memories that never quite fade all the way.
Gaming has more in common with campfire storytelling than perhaps anything else. Of course, at the gaming table I ask you what you are going to do next. So, after you hear this tale, I ask you the same thing… what would you do next?
Thanks for listening everybody.
